Kati Gilmore utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for the treatment of a variety of issues.  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), is the form of psychotherapy directed at present time issues and based on the idea that the way an individual thinks and feels affects the way they behave.  Kati has advanced, specialized training in CBT with over 40 hours of post graduate intensive studies.  She has also participated in a rigorous supervision program through the Beck Institute and is currently working toward certification through the Academy of Cognitive Therapy.  Research shows that this form of treatment is one of the most effective for anxiety, depression, life adjustment and emotional distress due to medical conditions.  These are Kati’s primary areas of specialty.  Kati believes in the importance of collaboration in identifying goals and that work is done outside of session to promote change.  Kati has a Master’s of Science Degree in Marriage and Family and Community Counseling; and offers a comfortable, inviting office environment for people to feel safe in.  If you think this approach might be a good fit for you, please contact our office to schedule an appointment today.
