Kayley Walker is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who is passionate about assisting others connect with themselves on a deeper level. She highly values establishing internal/external safety within the therapeutic relationship/environment. She believes in fostering a safe and supportive space, in which people can learn to thrive with their whole self, and recognizes this as a very powerful vessel for change. She treats her clients with respect and genuine warmth, and acknowledges that each individual is the expert of their own life. Kayley trusts in the collaborative process that CBT built its’ foundation upon by working with clients to develop effective and individualized treatment plans, with empowerment of the individual at the forefront. As Kayley’s therapeutic approach is rooted in CBT, she also weaves in mindfulness and body awareness techniques. Through this integrative approach, Kayley aims to work with clients on focusing to be in the here and now, accepting what is arising, discovering self-compassion, and the recognition that growth and change are normal and healthy aspects of life.
Kayley moved from Colorado to Arkansas in 2017. And, while she is not an Arkansas native, she has always felt called to Arkansas, particularly due to the gorgeous nature scene here. After an adjustment period, she now very much considers Arkansas her ‘home’. She is a ‘rock-hound’, enjoys taking walks in nature, spending time with her husband and furbaby (Von), and dabbling in a variety of activities that may lead to new adventures. Kayley obtained her Master’s degree in Social Work with a concentration in Health & Wellness from the University of Denver in Denver, Colorado. She has received training from the Beck Institute for Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, The Play Therapy Institute of Colorado (Boulder, CO), Arkansas Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) Center, as well as extensive training in the use of Sandtray. She has provided psychotherapeutic services to children and adolescents diagnosed with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, and their families in individual sessions and facilitated support groups. The bulk of her experience comes from serving others in community mental health, by providing psychotherapy to children, adolescents, adults, and families within a k-12 school setting, and is now looking forward to beginning her journey as a clinician in private practice.
We are honored and grateful to have her on our team. Call/Text (479) 282-4452 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more and/or schedule an appointment with Kayley.
