Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

“Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Nikol is a dual master’s prepared advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) with over 18 years of nursing experience that includes pediatrics, adult health, nursing education, nursing research, legal nurse consulting, population health, tele-health, nurse entrepreneurship and community nursing. Nikol earned her post-master’s degree at the University of Cincinnati, and is board certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP).

Nikol specializes in working with clients with trauma, grief/loss, mood disorders, psychosomatic issues and veteran/first responder stress intolerance. Her philosophy of care includes the belief that recovery is individualized, multi-faceted, and that a combined treatment modality of medication, therapy and lifestyle alterations are needed to bring lasting change.

Nikol desires to help clients restore feelings of stability, well-being, and understands that starting medication can have its concerns. She has a passion for brain/gut health and neuro trauma. In compliance of nursing board standards, she does not prescribe for ADD/ADHD and utilizes a conservative approach when it comes to use of controlled substances, such as benzodiazepines. Therefore, she offers a holistic approach to mental healthcare with emphasis on teaching, education, and overall resiliency.

Nikol is a long time horsewoman and enjoys barrel racing, Texas travel, dancing, concerts, reading, forensics and all things Pioneer Woman.
