What we do
Our family counselors establish an environment that is open, encouraging and supportive. It is important that all members of the family feel comfortable and welcome. Family counselors guide clients through a process of communication and discovery: what is working, what is not working, and what can be done to make the relationships stronger, deeper, and more peaceful for all members.
We have high expectations for our family counselors and the families with which we work. Family counseling clients who come to us and want to improve things and are ready to work are amazed by how quickly they see the strength of their relationships grow. We make it a priority to make a positive impact within the family and its systems.
Family counseling may be appropriate for families struggling with discipline, drug or alcohol addictions, or divorce and re-marriage. The family is an important place to build trust, strength and to grow yourself in relation to your family. It needs to be a safe place for children and parents. Our counselors look at patterns in communication, both verbal and nonverbal, to assess how each member relates themselves to the family. They assist families in discarding problematic behaviors and replacing them with positive and constructive interactions that provide the support and the emotional context for the health and wellbeing of all family members. Starting a dialogue with each other can help you make incredible strides. We believe in the family system.
